The European Agreement Concerning The International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road
It is the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road, signed on 30 September 1957 on the initiative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
“ADR” entered into force on 29 January 1968, and the idea came from the French.
It aims to ensure that dangerous goods are carried on public roads safely and in an orderly manner, without harming human health, other living beings or the environment.
It sets out the responsibilities, obligations and working conditions of the consignors, consignees, fillers, loaders, unloaders, packers and carriers involved in the transport process, and of the operators or drivers of every vehicle carrying dangerous goods.
